Anyone know of any reasonably as obscure, soft, rich in flowing keyboard new wave ballads such as this

Really addicted to it and want to hear bands that did a similar thing. House Of Stone by Roaring Boys could also be a comparison. That kind of sound.

I personally think that 80's soft rock is terrible. Whenever I'm in the mood for mellow, I'd much rather listen to 70's soft rock or jazz. Mellow music from the 70's is far superior to 80's mellow (bubblegum), in my opinion. I really hate that video too, yuk.

Here's one of the few outstanding mellow 80's tracks to come out

Too bad all the Filipinos have left the board. They're the gentle wave experts.

You might want to check out a track by a band called Freur - "Doot Doot". It fits the bill perfectly. I think you'll like it.

I think Icehouse held the patent on that type of sound. Sounds a lot like some of the stuff Bowie, Roxy Music and Tears For Fears did.

I would also add China Crisis to that list.

I always thought "I'm Thinking Of You Now" by Box of Toys is a much better song, and in a similar vein.
