I still haven't seen the original. I'm not holding out too much hope for the remake.

I doubt this will be as good as original, the movie nor the music...I think hard to replace Bacon/Singer combination...
but I'm glad Zac Afron dropped out.... the actor they chose seems a bit better fit... and brunette Julianne Hough looks good too [:D]

The trailer had kids dancing to crunk as well as doing country line dancing. It looks like it's trying to be all things to all people, which means that it'll be nothing to everyone.

Ugh...who asked for this remake? Was the original even that great to begin with?

The whole premise of the film was ridiculous in the eighties and even more so now ... plus that kid who plays Willard is no Chris Penn.

Saw the trailer for the remake, and they pulled a 'Psycho" and re-did certain scenes shot for shot. But seriously, I don't know what Footloose is going to be like without Let's Hear it for the Boy, Holding Out for a Hero, Almost Paradise, Dancing in the Sheets...one of my favorite soundtracks from the 80s.

Good lord. It's bad enough that we had to suffer through the original. [xx(]

Exactly.
Nowhere to go but up on the remake.

they thought having lead actor named Kenny would be sufficient for those with 80's nostalgia [:p]

Let's look at this positively. It can't possibly be as bad as the short running Broadway play--trust me. I saw it...
