New Wave Outpost Forum

While we all wear the badge of New Wave proudly upon our chests...beating it loudly as all these modern day wannabes prance about on stage lip synching....we sometimes stray. Every one of us has a secret indulgence. Here are some things I am fessing up to:

I actually like ABBA. [:I]

My hair always resembled a military type shortness and I never colored it. [B)]

Culture Club is what initially turned me on to music from the U.K. and hence the whole New Wave thing followed.

I think most Ministry music actually sounds very aweful. [xx(]

New Wave opened me up to modern club music. You know all those artists with DJ before their names.

I have more Big Audio Dynamite LPs and Cds then of the Clash.

I never dated a New Waver. [:X]

I liked Miami Vice and even had one of those suits with the sleeves rolled up etc. [V]

I once went through a several month period where I refused to listen to any recording with a human drummer.

I'm more likely to listen to a "Stones-ish" new wave band than the Stones.

Okay, this is very difficult for me to say, fearing ridicule or other marginalization as a non true NWO acolite. Out of all the new wave bands, there's maybe only 25% that I really want to sit through whole albums of. There's about 50% that I'm perfectly

I'm not ashamed to say I love 70s Prog Rock, 80s Freestyle, and Eurodance. In fact, back in the day, New Wave was my secret guilty pleasure. My tastes gravitated toward Synthpop and Powerpop, rather than Punk or Alte

My confessions: I also like ABBA and saw the Mamma Mia play, I also like Culture Club, I don't own or remember some of the more obscure new wave, I like a little bit of almost any kind of music, I haven't kept up to date on new music(mostly)since the mid-

My confession is that back in the 80's I wanted so bad to work at Tower Records, or any record store (other than the mall ones). I guess I was just to plain looking. Nothing weird about me. I pretty much wore my hair normal, mostly wore concert shirts

I own more than 35 Waylon Jennings records and enjoy most if not all of them very much. Much more than I enjoy Depeche Mode.

Never liked Abba although I do understand their pop appeal.

I've sported a pompadour of varying heights and lengths since I was about 18 (I turned 34 last week)I had a devil lock (see: Misfits) for most of my teen years and a short lived mohawk.

I am right there with you as far as Waylon Jennings is concerned. I have been a fan of his since I was a kid! There is one album of his that I have been desperately trying to find, called "Waymore's Blues". it came out in '90 or '91 I
