religiously, but only as a resource. I keep my entire music collection cataloged alphabetical by artist in Word documents.

Most of the time, it's an excellent resource.

Yep, but keep in mind that it is like Wikipedia; the site should not be taken as gospel.

Like Frank_Chickens, as a resource and cataloged in Media Monkey. Rateyourmusic is pretty decent to use too.

Completely agree obs as there are a few blank spots in it which can be filled in easily enough if you have an interest in that particular area.

I sometimes use Discogs to buy albums that are out of print or special editions. There are thousands of singles, EPs and LPs from the post punk era offered on this site.

Granted, but realize that it is a USER-built/moderated database. It will never be complete nor claim to be, and it's up to all users to make sure that the items they own that are not already in there get added.

Unlike Wikipedia, it doesn't have long, rambling paragraphs filled with poorly-written nerd-conjecture.
It is like Wikipedia in that it is only as good as WE make it.

Unlike Wikipedia, Discogs seems to think that "Pet Shop Boys" is part of the title to their albums. Just saying
