It is a 148 page collector's edtion from the publishers of Q and MOJO. It includes the complete Depeche Mode story including a brand new interview. Madonna was a New Romantic??? Melody Maker and NME really need brighter hindsight. Sure, Madonna was a New Romantic - and Lemmy Kilmister occasionally appeared on the Lawrence Welk Show. Whoever composed that list HAS to be under the age of 25.

There was also an NME special edition of 80's Goth out before Xmas. Robert Smith was on the cover. I picked it up at Border's for $10. It's a terrific retrospective of 80's Goth acts like The Cure, Bauhaus, Siouxsie, Cocteau Twins, and many others. Gr

I grabbed the Goth issue. It's pretty cool but a little heavy on the Cult and The Mission for my tastes. I've also bought the punk issue and the glam rock issue. They're all pretty entertaining, if you don't take them too seriously.

Yes, I do remember Madonna even getting some airplay on local college stations back in 1983. I use to see the "Burning Up" video all the time in clubs. Isn't that the one where she is rolling around in the middle of the street?

For people who missed out on the Goth issue, there's a Barnes and Nobel in DT Mpls that has about 6 copies left. If you're interested let me know and I'll pick them up. They run about $11 after tax, and mailing costs I assume would be about $3.00 first
