I'm really scratching my head at this being picked the best song in the last 25 years by the Brits:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainmen ... 249031.stm

It's kinda catchy like "You Light Up My Life" was catchy in the 70s. Plus with all the greatness of the 80s, they pick a wet towel of a song from a few years ago? WTF? Do they not have any memories?!!!

Hmmm, maybe they don't. I've always found it peculiar how the entire nation seems to pick up a certain musical fancy and go totally overboard on it then bails completely a few months later. Remember when Pavaroti's "Nessun Dorma" raged across the countryside? I'm sure there were a series of football songs that did the same. Plus the Bucks Fizzes, Toyahs, and Gallagher brothers who alternately peaked then crashed...hard!

Is it me or are these guys fickle? Then again, maybe it's this fickleness that keeps the music there so intersting versus the 100 classic rock stations in Connecticut! I don't know. What's the deal? Am I missing something about this song???

'Millennium' is the only Robbie Williams tune that comes to mind, which had lyrics laid over a recycled James Bond movie theme (You Only Live Twice). Was this guy THAT talented to garner such an accolade?
Apparently So...

NO WAY is this the best song of the last 25 years. A good song goes a long way and has to stand the test of time like going through new phases of the decades. The song is good borderline on great but it absolutely does not deserve this title!!!

Absolutely ludicrous. I this is the best brit song of the last 25 years, this says this song is better than anything The Chameleon, China Crisis, Comsat Angels......the list goes on forever. Total bullshit to even think this could be remotely true, it sho
