how did classical music influence new wave

Recently I noticed a classical music website.

I wonder, if, in this time of electronic music, flashy music shows, and newfangled instruments --
I wonder if the genius inherent in the work of Beethoven and Chopin is still important. That is, if it is still able to be appreciated.
Can it be appreciated through new wave? Has it influenced new wave?

No disrespect, but it seems that you're clearly trying to push this site, whether it's yours or not. I can appreciate classical music ... there's absolutely no other music of its stature, but I highly doubt that much of new wave was influenced by classica

Regarding the western scale as some kind of limitation ... maybe we'll see a pop movement based on microtonality and eastern scales, but I don't think our ears could handle it. One electronic/ambient musician I enjoy -- Robert Rich -- often uses 'Just Int

Klaus Nomi had classical influences in his music; I wouldn't say he based his work off of it though.
