Name That Tune: Joy Division & New Order!

Hi gang, like Fritz mentioned, I’m briefly coming out of retirement while he works on what I'm sure will be a great NTT20! It seems fitting given all the New Order talk of late that this is a Name That Tune tribute to New Order and Joy Division.

Points will be based largely on the Song – 5 points each on 25 songs. 1 point will be given for the Artist since you already know it’s one of two (or three [;)] ). There are no offshoot bands like Electronic.

Here’s the rub – 2 bonus points will be given for the specific Version of the song, i.e. it’s Source: what LP, EP, studio session, radio session, demo, 12”, etc that it originally came from. Things like Best Ofs, the Substance comps, Heart and Soul, Retro, or Complete BBC Recordings do not count, unless of course the material was never previously released elsewhere.

You all know the game rules. Download the mp3 below:
http://home.comcast.net/~myirwin/JD-NO.mp3

And respond back to me via this answer sheet to the email listed within:
http://home.comcast.net/~myirwin/NTT-JDNO.txt

Don’t discourage – unlike other games, the first half may be harder than the latter.

***Game ends in ONE WEEK and ONE DAY, Midnight EST Saturday the 19th - it has been extended 24 hours by request. Good luck!

um, is #7 the version from:
the Greece-only release of 46 lathe cuts with the label made of grape leaves and packaged in paper from an original accounting ledger dating from 697 BC Sparta
or:
the Iceland-only edition of 37 on Valkyrijjoskirrviisdottir

You gave away the grape leaves version? You cork soaker! [:D]

BTW, initial indications are that the first half Songs may be pretty hard, and the Source thingy might be brutal. For your troubles, I'm willing to send an mp3 CD of about 100 rarities to th

Yeah Schwenko! And I AM testing you and some other New Order mavens [;)]

But I'm really not trying to trick you with grape leaf and smelt skin versions. If it sounds like an album version, it probably is, and every original studio album is represented.

I'm definitely interested in that cd Blir. I don't own any rarities from these two groups, only albums. Thanks for the offer. I'll be submitting my answers tomorrow (I like to sleep on it).

I definitely would love to get one of those rarities mp3 CD's Blir. The source answers killed me too. I only have Substance and Permanent. Thanks for a great NTT!

Hmmmm...

I never made any pretenses at being very knowledgable about JD or NO, but damn. I guess I don't know diddly. I might know 3 of these songs. [B)]

Awesome NTT fritz!
I just submitted. Songs were (somewhat) easy, but the source was tougher because of all their comps over the years. After a while, it's hard to keep track of where a song was originally released.

p.s. is it too late to humbly ask f

Fritz, ick, 3?? Come on, there's some powerderpuffs in there too. At the same time, I get the feeling there might be a real wide range given the narrow topic - you're into it or not.

BTW, the early leader is Grayson, not surprisingly. Average score is

Update to start the week:

KYYX4ever has pulled to the front, getting the exact same Song & Band score as Grayson, but writing down a mere 6 bonus Sources got her the lead. Average is 103 out of 200, but I know there's some JD/NO mavens lurking out ther
