Just heard this pleasant surprise today on the RADIO of all things! It reminded me how much I like this song but also how different it is from most other The The stuff. Is there any explanation to this? Were they going through some fad or band changes or is it just indicative of Johnson's earlier stuff?

although that really doesn't make sense to me. I remember reading somewhere that the cover art was symbolic of the songs on the tape. But I just never liked that pic! Too crass and ugly.

I went to see Matt Johnson at CBS records as he chatted with a group of us from college radio. It was around the Soul Mining release. He really like "Love Cats" by the Cure at the time and he woundnt show his video(This is the Day) until he left the room,
