[8D]Please Share your "NEW WAVE BANDs from GERMANY" you know and Their hit Songs and Versions. NEW WAVE MUSIC is our common denominator, so for this, [8D] FRIENDSHIPS counts a LOT [8D]
For How many years I'm a real serious "New Wave FANATICS". I'm exploring my knowledge about New Wave 80s, especially now, for the GERMAN NEW WAVE BANDs. I Know some and I got some Vinyls and CDs of the real NEW WAVE from GERMANY. Like the fillowing:
1) XMAL DEUTSCHLAND - matador 12", Viva LP,Peel Sessions LP
2) KRAFTWERK - Das Model 12",Man Machine LP,Tour de France 12"
3) NENA - Just a dream 12",99 LuftBallons CD,
4) PETER SCHILLING - Major Tom 12", Peter Schilling CD
5) THIS FINAL FRAME - Mask 7",Take no prisoners 12"

Well, if we are only talking about the 80's, then here are some more great German stuff:

DAF - Brothers
Peter Baumann - Strangers In The Nght

I was in Germany from 1984 until 1988 and I'm probably forgetting a lot but I remember Schwefel, Invincible Spirit, Invisible Limits, Philip Boa and the Voodooclub, Nena, Hubert Kah, Die Krupps, Xmal Deutschland, DAF,Liaisons Dangereuses, and of course a couple of punk bands - Die Toten Hosen, Abstürzende Brieftauben, Die Arzte and Spermbirds (Americans living in Germany, I think?). Great stuff which I still listen to regularly. I know Boa and Schwefel are still putting out music - any idea about any of the others?

While we are on the topic of German synth/wave, does anyone remember the 80's duo Die Zwei? These are all the releases I can gather from the net (there is frustratingly little info on them)

Einsamkeit hat viele namen 7"
Grapsch 12" (nice minimal synth dub)
Country Boy 12" (I think those are guest vocalists on this song, which was later covered by Associates)
USA! USA! USA! (EP?LP?)

To confuse matters more, there is a pop duo with the same name in the 90's onwards. I think it's a totally different group.

Any more info? This has been baffling me for a long time.. [B)]

The 12" of Take no Prisoners has 3 songs, all of which are great. But I'm sure they were from Liverpool England, not Germany....

The "Erde 80" EP by Christoff Glowalla is essential Neu Deutsch Welle. CG has an official web site where you can download the EP and a lot more of his music.

I've got 2 comp reocrds, "Tanz Mit Der Herzen" (or something like that, translates to "Dance from the Heart") and "Deutschland". Both are good representations of NDW, as is the DJ Hell compiled "New Deutsch" from 2003.

Thanks for the information.I Just got vinyl from the Group INVISIBLE LIMITS and their version of LOVE WILL TEAR US APART. For the SCHWEFEL and INVINCIBLE SPIRIT how do they sound? What american can you compare them? What song will you recommend? Anyway thanks for Sharing,I'll research about them.

Your right they have a great songs as for me they are categorized as synthwave sound.Actually I have all the records even their famous 12" version of "STORIES".All the vinyls came from Germany and I've heard from a good friend that all their records released only in Germany.Anyway thanks for the info.I'll research more about them.

Thomas Ludke actually left Invisible Limits early on in their career to form Invincible Spirit. I would recommend you start with Current News if you can find it. Avoid Can Sex Be Sin? at first which is a lot harder than their usual EBM stuff. For Schwefel, the best one to get is Unlimited Years which is a greatest hits compilation (there's a review at http://aural-innovations.com/2003/septe ... wefel.html) and the only way you can get the earlier singles on cd. If you can't find it, you might be able to get it direct from Norbert at www.norbertschwefel.de That's how I had to get the last couple of cd's. Good luck! If you have any other queations just let me know.

[/quote]The mid to late 80's material from The Twins is generally more along the lines of DiscoPop/Italo like "Ballet Dancer", but their early stuff is pure New Wave. They attribute their early influences as Tubeway Army/Gary Numan, OMD, and Depeche Mode.

By the way, most of their catalog has been recently remastered on CD for the first time and they sound great! Fans of early synthpop will enjoy <I>Modern Lifestyle[/i] from 1982 with the Euro hit "Face To Face - Heart To Heart" and their very Numan-esque debut album <I>Passion Factory[/i] from 1981. Great stuff we missed out on back in the day! [8D]

for the INVINCIBLE SPIRIT i will try to find their songs since THOMAS LUDKE was s former INVISIBLE LIMITS.Also for the SCHWEFEL i will look for their stuff. May be you know other German music stuff that sounds like This final Frame.It will be highly appreciated. [8)]
actually I prefer to find vinyls but if no avail. vinyl I will result to get CD copy.Ok for now.

Wow, no one has mentioned Nina Hagen? I'm shocked!

There also a real fun band called Extrabriet that had different styles, sometimes punk, sometimes dance, sometimes new wave. They even have an allegro![:D]

Anybody remember a band called Humpe Humpe? They had that cool song Yama-Ha. I'm not sure if they were German or not though. Their album was in English I remember that...and I think they used to be part of the Neon Babies but don't know much about it.
