i use to love those late 70's early 80's cheap simple sounding electronic bands, i was looking for ideas for bands like that doing cover songs.
here were som i loved, got any more?
silicon teens-there wonderful music for parties album.
hybrid kids-had a good album of weird covers.
devo and residents of course cover of satisfaction.
polyphonic size-mothers little helper.
there has got to be plenty out there that im not thinking of now or that i never heard?
thank you.

Snakefinger's cover of "The Model" by Kraftwerk comes to mind. Who was the band that covered "Our Lips are Sealed"? I wanna say Fun Boy Three but I could be wrong about that...

Don't forget the Flying Lizards cover of "Money (That's What I Want)"!
Also:
"Route 66"--Depeche Mode
"On Broadway"--Gary Numan
"Waiting for the Man"--OMD (covering the Velvet Underground)

Glad Flying Lizards was brought up. Their take on "Sex Machine" is terrific and their version of Cohen's "Suzanne" is rather creepy. Good stuff.
