I know I could probably ask Jeeves and get the skinny on these guys (Trip Shakespeare) but, i figured i would ask the experts. I, for some reason never heard of them until about 6 months ago, i have 3 of their songs on my ipod, Snow Days, and Tool Master of Brainerd, and Diane. I'm liking these songs and was wondering if any of their other stuff was worth tracking down. Geez are they from the 80's, how did i miss them? I'm not the music master that I thought I was. I'm guessing from their lyrics that they are from up north somewhere.

They were from Minneapolis. I think Ollie's friends with them [:D]. 2 of them (Dan and John) later formed Semisonic, who used to do a really sweet cover of Prince's Erotic City live. Nice guys, but I never liked their music much aside from a few tunes.

Tool Master of Brainerd! Great song, I remember playing that on my radio show around 1988 or so.

My favorite TS song is "The Slacks" followed by "Gone Gone Gone." "Bachelorette" is great too but I can see how some people would be annoyed at their sound. It's pretty unique.

Never could stand that band. They used to play every week at one bar or another and I had the misfortune of having them shoved down my throat too many times. Not to discourage anyone else from listening to (and enjoying) them, they were just way too over

Trip Shakespeare inspired the guys at MST3K to name their prop guy, Jeff Maynard, "Toolmaster Maynard".

Useless trivia but the best show on TV for many years.
