I think the second New Wave band I got fixated on is Scritti Politti. They had very unique stuff. Cupid and psyche '85 was there best, great material. "Songs To Remember was pretty good too.

Couldn't stand them. Green Gartside's voice had a perfect way of making me go crazy (and not in a good way).

Trivia:

Do you know [i]Perfect Way(version)[/i] from the original UK 12" B-side has never been on CD? It's far better than the 'Way Perfect mix' or the album version.

Early Scritti Politti is now out on CD - a far cry from the later sound they had with Perfect Way. Who knows how long this comp of early recordings will be around. IMO, you'd never know it was them if you weren't looking at the cover.

Blimey, I own this album but I can't even include it in my top 15 list! Some tracks are quite good but not infectious enough to get me hooked. I must listen to it now again and see...

Cupid & Psyche 85 was a good album for me to listen! I know what you mean Rubbeet, I like this group and it's easy on the ears but just not one of my favorites. I don't know if they would crack my top twenty. ok now I feel like one of the judges on Americ

I find Cupid and Psyche one of the most amazing SOUNDING releases from that era. I go back to hear fairly often, actually. For some reason that release (more so than others) really reminds me of the time-period (what I was doing, who I was dating, etc e
