Long time lurker and first time poster here. I've really enjoyed reading y'all's posts. It makes me realize that the music I love has not died, and that listening to classic alternative music doesn't make one (too) weird. Hopefully I'm not violating any newbie rules by posting a new topic:

A Flock of Seagulls-Listen (Wore out two cassettes with the extra tracks)

Well, can't say Ive worn any of my LP or 12" disc out since I was a real stickler for keeping them clean (thank you Zerostat & Disc Washer) [^]
However, I can say that my favorite Police album (Zenyat

Kraftwerks Computerworld Lp..I played that one oh so much..I played it forwards/Backwards, I would "scratch" it...Put the album up on my walls with tacs.
I also played A Flock of Seagulls to death.

The Clash - London Calling, I played it so much my parents even knew the words to the songs. I wore out a cassette tape of KROQ recordings from the 80's. I found it in a box during my last move and remembered it was pretty well shot. Welcome to NWO NuWave

I had a Cassette called "The Beat" from about 1982. It had the GoGo's ,Sparks,Thompson Twins etc. on it. That thing got worn out in my 79' Z/28's cassette player!

good topic--and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who wore out my Flock of Seagulls cassette.[:I][:I]

First album that comes to mind is NewOrder's [i]Low Life[/i]. I totally warped that cassette. [i]The Queen Is Dead[/i] also got severely damaged from lending it to the kids at school. Otherwise, I stuck to mix tapes so I wouldn't have to buy these things.

I had these cassette tapes broken/worn down:

Definitely the Clash "London Calling"
also the Jam "Setting Sons" and Gang of Four "Entertainment"
The Specials debut is pretty beat up as well.

It sounds like many of you did what I did and made mix tapes for friends. Between high school and college I must have made hundreds of mix tapes for friends etc. A mix tape made for a girl I was dating usually
