His thread about Warren Zevon made me think of other great singers/songwriters of the same era (mid 70s to 80s) and I wonder what everyone else thinks of the following artists even though most of them are not really considered new wave per se?

Ian Hunter
Donnie Iris
Dave Edmunds

Donnie Iris--another guy that should have been bigger than what he was. His Back On The Streets lp is a classic.
Ian Hunter--ditto--what a drag he wasnt more popular.[:D]

Nice post.
Steve Forbert's 'Alive on Arrival' is one of my favorite non-new wave lps. I never get sick of hearing it.
I have just about everything solo that Lowe or Edmunds ever did. If I had to pick between the two, I'd probably go with Lowe, just
