I never get tired of this song. It still sounds refreshingly un-dated when compared to other songs from 1983. To me, this is one of the best tunes to come out of the new wave scene of the early 80s. Glad that the band finally found well-deserved success as Underworld in the 90s electronica/techno scene.

Ditto. Where's that thread about 2 songs in a row? I could easily listen to the regular and extended versions back to back and then over again. I could listen to it in a box, I could listen to it with a fox...

Totally. I get chills when the cricket sounds kick in and the first few bars of the song plays. The ending is pretty good too. Only in this place do members know what the hell I'm talkin about [8D]

Ah yes, sometimes at TTN they'd play this one to slow things down after a frenzied set (say, B-52s' "Strobe Light"), and it was a chance to rub one's parts all over the guy with whom one had just been pogoing . . . not that I ever schmushed my barely post-adolescent breasts against near-strangers or anything like that . . . [}:)]

Thats weird. I played this song on my show last week for the first time. The 12" version. I like the synth that sounds like a penny-whistle...

One of the coolest and most distinctive New Wave songs of all times. In my Top Twenty All-Times List along with Souvenir, Nowhere Girl, A Letter From Afar and others. If people just ignore all the strange noises, it's actually a beautiful ballad that can be played on any Adult Comtemporary radio station.

Great Song, definately a "Play again" song. One of the reasons why I like the movie Vanilla Sky so much.

It's a garbled phrase in English (backwards). I knew it, but I just can't remember it now.

That entire album has some great songs on it. Along with "Doot Doot" there is "The Devil in Darkness" and "Hey Ho" that I think are tops.

I remember local radio station KROQ did a survey of the best sex song, and "Doot Doot" came in at #1. Sounds like Hexicon and her post-adolescent breasts don't disagree [:p]

Freur's second album was even better, and the only way I've ever heard it was downloaded from AudioGalaxy (it never came out in the States). That's actually where "The Devil And Darkness" came from - it was a bonus track on the CD release of Doot Doot. "Hey Ho Away We Go" was from the same sessions but I think it was only a B-side. This is why I think the KaZaA's of the world really serve their purpose. I'd have never heard the album (or Red Box's brilliant "Motive") without being able to download it.

It's the first album (except for the last 2 (bonus) tracks issued by Oglio more than 10 years ago (can it be that long ago?)

I never get tired of this song either. Timeless ! Lush and gorgeous. definately on my Fave Lists....and what I think of when I hear that term "shoegaze". mmmm...
