theres actually more songs that he wanted, but itunes didnt have. I can only remember a few but i know Bowie's Drive In Saturday is one. oh and Kate Bush's Cloudbusting. I think there was a led zep song too.

I'm really surprised there's not a Cranes song on his list. His other faves are there - Mogwai, Nick Drake, Thin Lizzy (his first concert experience?), My Bloody Valentine, Supergrass, The Cooper Temple Clause & Placebo. I'm obsessed, I know. Hell, I'm as into Robert Smith as I am Stevie Nicks. So - shoot me;-).

It's awesome that he has Deftones on there, as they are one of the only bands these days whos cd I'd consider buying. But at closer glance, it looks as if a solid percentage of Bob's list is more about giving "props" and "shout-outs" to new-ish bands that have cited him as a major influence (deftones included) and/or that he has recently worked with. Not that there is anything wrong with this, just an observation.

A few of his favs from the 80's are missing like Echo and the Bunnymen and New Order. He also was a huge fan of Shellyann Orphan who I believe opened up for them during the "Disintegration" tour. The Deftones actually performed a killer version of "If Only Tonight We Could Sleep" during the MTV Icons Cure Special a few months ago. I'm suprised he didn't include something by the man who hosted the special, Mr. Manson.

I remember seeing in "Star Hits" magazine during the 80s that Robert Smith dug a lot of ethereal artists like This Mortal Coil, Cocteau Twins, etc. Made sense that Shelleyan Orphan and Cranes would open for The Cure.
