Well the Fandango DVD was FINALLY released and inspires this "Your Favorite 80s Cult Classic Movie Poll". Not necessarily cult movies but even popular ones with an enduring cult following. Also, the question is not about the soundtrack but the movie itself.
Since there's a 15 item limit on the polls, I've split it into two polls: movies WITH an overt 80s soundtrack and movies WITHOUT. This poll is for WITH but vote for both polls:

You omitted "Sixteen Candles" which has a great 80s/new wave soundtrack!

PS. Some movies left on the cutting room floor:
The Big Blue: one of MY favs but doubt any others
Blues Brothers: too broad-audience?
The Breakfast Club: enough already
Heathers: very late 80s
Pretty in Pink: my head + title track = scene from Brai

Would of thought Tron would of been in this category as the soundtrack fits the period very well; a triumphant return for Wendy Carlos.
As for the British perspective, it would of been nice to see
Party Party included as it featured many artists from

I'd vote "Ferris Bueller" if it were there. Great 80's soundtrack.
