Hi:

I was curious where you folks like to listen to your New Wave music since FM broadcast radio is so lame? I've heard quite a few Internet radio stations and music channels via cable/satellite, and I'd have to say without a doubt that Music Choice's "RetroActive" to be by far my favorite. I found these guys when I used to have Comcast cable. When I switched to DirecTV, I made sure they had the same service.

One of the best Internet radio stations was by Netradio, but they went under about 4 or 5 years ago. Since then I've listened to Sinewave radio via Live365, Flashback Alternatives, and DayGloRadio via Shoutcast. I'd have to say that Music Choice consistently plays more tunes that are faithful to the genre, and the fidelity there is much higher than any Internet-based station.

If you guys have found other sources, please share with the group!

I listen to 1st Wave (channel 22) on Sirius satellite radio for my daily fix! I love it, although they have a tendency towards the hits. Still, they surprise me quite often with a rare track!

Retro Active is good although there's a lot of stuff they are missing. I was the one who got the Sound and the Wild Swans added to their playlist. My favorite is "Lite Wave," broadcast from K-Lite in Manila, Philippines. You can tune in every Saturday mor

About the only place I can hear it regularly is either online streaming of Retro-Active on my cable.

The online Pure Obscure (www.audioparagon.com) used to be pretty good but now they want you to sign up to be a member.

At work I listen to Flashback alternatives, mostly. They seem to have the biggest catalog of any on the online stations. I also listent to Day-glo, and several of the Live365 station, specifically Club80s.

either NEW WAVE CLASSICS 77-86 or Darksyth, on live365.

DayGlo 80s and Flashback ALternatives are at the top of the list.

Those are the only 2 stations that play "obscure" 80s stuff.

I second the New Wave Classics 77-86 station. Really good stuff.
I also like the all-Kraftwerk station, but that's just me.

VH1's <a href="http://www.vh1.com/music/radio/stations/id_51/station.jhtml" target="blank">Altern80's</a> was a great NW streaming site but alas, it no longer appears to be active.[V]

On the radio, I listen to "Essential 80's" on Long Island's 90.3FM.

They just played "Cruiser's Creek" by the Fall on NU-107 during regular rotation...the Lotus Eaters are coming up soon, I think...

Most broadcast radio suffers from a lack of diversity. XM & Sirius make a good effort but never really scratch the surface of the New Wave recordings. College radio is at the other end of the spectrum. They delve so far into obscure music that they lack a
