Who's gay?
No this isn't one of kimiiii's get-to-know-you questions. Share if you want but I'm not that interested. I'm asking about new wave artists. Come on, you've wondered too, but been afraid of the PC backlash you'd get for asking.
I've been told that only one member of Depeche Mode is gay, but what are we supposed to think with all that eyeliner and black leather? There are the obvious ones like Boy George and Pete Burns, but I want to know who's gay and who just dressed a bit androgynously because it was fashionable.
The guys in AFOS?
The Taylors from Duran Duran?
Curt & Roland from TFF?
Erasure? (Come on, they must be.)
Who's gay that I would never suspected? Or at least bi?
Come on! Let 'em out of the closet and set the record straight... so to speak.
Part two of my question is about gay themes in new wave songs. I've heard that "The Boy With the Thorn in His Side" and "Small Town Boy" are contain gay subject matter, but I've listened to those songs many times and I would never have caught it - even though I'd suspected or known about the performers.
Honestly, knowing one way or the other won't change my listening habits. I just want to understand where the artists are coming from.
Flame away if you must. (Oops - that sounds bad too!) But I'm just curious.
