I know there's a LOT of people who were clubbers or teens in the 80's. But i wanna know the ratios. 32 here so I only have minimal 80's memories and most were regarding bad hair metal... [V]

To be young, and in new wave.

I wish I were older...that way I could drink legally and I would have been around during the vinyl days and lived new wave instead of just listening to it now.

And also other people would like new wave.
I know nobody in reality that likes new wave...
It makes me sad.
And very few chicks like it. In fact, I have yet to meet a girl that likes new wave.
Well I know there are females here and such.

Don't worry whether chix do not like New Wave-most chix do not care about music anyway except what they hear on the radio. Once the song is not a "hit" any more, it fades from memory. Actually, most people-males and females-are like that. Consider yourself smart and unique in that, although it is not popular in your age group, you appreciate an art form that most people cannot truly fathom.

As someone who lived during the new wave heyday, even back then it was not fully accepted. So those days probably would not have been much different than what you experience now. Hang in there, my friend....

What you need to do is find regulars at New Wave clubs. That's how I met most of my current batch of friends. Both chix and dudes. [:D] Whether they like the music AS much as you is not the point but its nice to at least find people who like to listen to New Wave AND have a fun time dancing to it. I did most of my discovery of it when I turned 21 ('93 when grunge hit) so it matters not exactly whehter the 80's has passed or not. Somewhere in your city (if its big enough) its being rediscovered by a whole new generation.

47 here, very grateful and old enough to remember 1979 as the year I "woke-up"....the year that I no longer was forced to listen to Kansas, Stxy, Billy Joel, Bob Seger, Journey (not that they were bad groups, just that whole we're-gonna-shove-it-down-your-throat mainstream radio thing)and hello to the B'52's, Gary Numan, Cowboys International, Gang of Four, Siouxsie...etc

me , i'm 29 going on 30 yrs. old. but i remember the 80's like if it were just yesterday. people now in days say that the 80's were weired and gay. shit ,things are more fucked up and just as gay now, so what's the diffrence ?????[}:)]

I'm 32, but thanks to having lots of cool uncles and MTV, I was into all kinds of music at an early age. Didn't get to go to many concerts though.[V]

37... old enough to enjoy the records but not hte clubs.

29 going on 30 but and as gay as your are now than you were before. Just exactly how are things "gay" or even "just as gay" today? What the hell does that mean?

44, in the scene since I bought Tom Robinson Band's 'Power in the Darkness' in 1977, life altering event...hit the clubs in 78, when you could actually be underage and still get in some places

36, I'll be 37 in a month.
Perfect age during the New wave heydey, to my mind.
