from the NY Times, 5/9/05:
"Geldof Denies Live Aid Revival
Sir Bob Geldof, the organizer of the Live Aid charity concerts in 1985, denied a statement made by his own staff that plans were under way to stage a new Live Aid concert in July to coincide with both the summit meeting of the Group of Eight industrialized countries and the original concerts' 20th anniversary. "It is kite flying, that's all it is. It is just talk," he said while attending the Rose d'Or television festival in Switzerland. "Why would I possibly repeat something I did 20 years ago?" His spokeswoman had confirmed that talks were taking place about holding the concerts, the BBC reported. The G-8 meeting is to be held in July in Gleneagles, Scotland. The original Live Aid concerts, in London and Philadelphia on July 13, 1985, raised more than $75 million for famine relief in Africa."
BTW, where the hell is the NYTimes review of the NO concert?? [8D]
