New Wave Outpost Forum

What are some of your favorite New Wave songs sung in languages other than English? If you want to include songs sung in foreign languages by English-speaking acts (i.e. Kate Bush "Ne T'enfants pas," David Bowie "Helden"...go ahead). What I'm really looking for are songs sung by non-English speaking groups/singers.

I'm not a huge fan of "99 Luftballons" by Nena (German) but I'll mention it because I'm sure that's one of the first songs that comes to everyone's mind.

Soft Core - Maurice & the Cliches (not all in French, but when the girl's voice kicks in with the French...mmmm!)
Shock the Monkey - Peter Gabriel (German version)

I haven't the faintest idea of what she's singing either.

Any fans of foreign language New Wave should take a stab at <a href="http://www.nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5839" target="blank">Name That Tune 22</a>. Nearly a quarter of the tracks are in German or French.

Kraftwerk released German and English versions of most of their albums, as well as a Japanese version of Pocket Calculator.

The Alarm released Welsh versions of a few albums.

Kraftwerk's - Les Manequins...That song is the epitome of new wave!
