I was just listening to The Meat Puppets' bizarre remake of "A White Sportcoat and a Pink Carnation." What was that song from? The 1940s? I think I saw it performed on The Lawrence Welk Show.
In the 90s a local radio station frequently played Faith No More's live performance of The Commodore's "Easy."
Easy like Sunday morning. Aaaaah aaaah aaaaah AAAAAAAAAAh.
Any other completely unusual remakes that you can think of?

I always thought Devo's remake of The Stones "Satisfaction" was pretty unusual but then again what isn't by Devo.

Yellow Magic Orchestra do a bizarre remake of "Day Tripper."
Then there are the Dickies who have punked up "Nights in White Satin," "Yesterday," and other 60's ballad classics.
OMD slowed down and made a gloomy cover of Chris Montez's "The More I Se

A few odd/quirky covers that I can think of:
ISM's cover of "I Think I Love You"
Nina Hagen's cover of "I'm A Believer"
Fuzzbox/Dr and the Medics/Nina Hagen's covers of "Spirit in the Sky"
Holly Beth Vincent's cover of "For What it's Worth"
Siouxsi

The oddest I can think of, and NNW, is that Einsterzende Neubaten AND Nazareth covered Grateful Dead's "Morning Dew". Actually, quite a few artists have done this song, but those 2 would be the weirdest, IMO.
