I don't know if this will be another "Live aid", but
it's going to be in both Philadelphia and London on
July 2. The acts to appear have been kept secret,
although Sting has been confirmed.

Wouldn't it be great to have some of the acts who appeared in '85 repeat? It will be almost 20 years to the date of Live Aid '85.

Seriously, Stevie Wonder is the only one I would even consider.

The best part of the original Live Aid was the absence of politics. Now I think Bobby G. is injecting politics into it. First, he killed Michael Hutchence. Now, this....

This thing is going to blow so bad. It's foolish to even attempt another event like Live Aid.
I wonder what kind of performance space the Philadelphia Museum of Art has. It certainly can't be stadium-sized which is what an event like this should be in.

I think I read that it would be on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, so "the sky's the limit".

I *just* moved out of the Art Museum area. And THANK GOD. That weekend is always busy, but this year it's going to be a clusterfuck! July 2nd: Live8, July 4th: Elton John's Freedom Concert benefitting AIDS.

I totally agree with you!! It is very similar to the remaking of Woodstock. Somethings, no matter how hard it is for us to let go, you just can't go around and redo an original event! It just can't happen!
