(Recycling a former thread)

I love Japan - "Quiet Life" and I like a few songs on Gentlemen and only a few off Tin Drum. I've downloaded a several of their albums but all in all I have to say that nothing quite matches up with the genius of "Quiet Life". Am I alone? I'm kind of disappointed!

I thought everything up to and including "Gentlemen Take Polaroids" was fantastic, after that though, not much of interest; to me anyway.

various members of Duran Duran have stated that were influenced by several bands, Japan being one of them. Influenced? Just listen to Gentlemen Take Polaroids. Japan was robbed I tell ya!
Unquestionably a great album and band. Oil and Canvas ranks as

Mick Karn of JAPAN was very influential in the new-wave music scene..His work can be heard on some of Gary Numan's songs, I especially like "Slow train to China" & Peter Murphy's "Dali's Car" solo project(Great Album).

I have to be in the right mood to enjoy Japan. I think Quiet Life is really good, Gentlemen Take Polaroids is excellent and Tin Drum is mostly just boring.
