it's funny....I was just thinking about that the other day...I know, it's very morbid, but that's what a misery chic does in her spare time! I think I'd like it to be an irish wake, make it more of a party than a sad event, so I probably would have some more upbeat NW songs playing....need to delve into my NW collection and put a "funeral mix" together!

It would have to be a Viking funeral, complete with burning boat.

An die Musik, by Schubert. It's about loving music and how it consoles us in gray hours.

If I live to a ripe old age to preplan this, I would definitely have a mix of different genres represented at my post cremation memorial.
Probably would synch it with a visual multimedia display (video, and still imagery of things/ events that defined my existence and whatever tangible contributions others made to my life).

There's a driving melancholy to it, yet this song makes me very happy. I've always thought it would be the one song, if I had to pick any, for my funeral.

I'm not asking for much. I'd like Ian Curtis to rise from the grave, get together with Barney and put together the following poem from A E Housman to song in the classic Joy Division manner...a dirge if you will [:D]

I'm a hard-core athiest, but I want my funeral filled with the sappiest, whitest Christian songs out there. Just so everyone that knew me would leave scratching their heads and thinking "what the Hell was that?"
