Was lounging out by the pool yesterday listening to Jim. Really good poppy/punk stuff. Give it a try if you have not already.

I wore out a couple of Catholic Boy cassettes. There's not a bad song on that album. My favorites are It's Too Late and Nothing Is True. I've also lost track of how many times I've watched the Jim Carroll band footage in the movie Tuff Turf. [:D]

Tuff Turf, wow there is a blast from the past. Is it available on DVD?

I love Catholic Boy too. One of the best in 1980. I never did pick up the third album or his nineties stuff though. Just the first two albums. He's released some interesting reads as well. The Basketball Diaries and a couple of others.

We talked about this before a while back, but the fact that Spader didn't win an Oscar for this is the greatest injustice of our time. The man conveyed more emotion while singing "I Walk The Night" than most actors achieve in entire careers.

Yes, I love Catholic Boy! Anybody have Dry Dreams? I have it on vinyl--was it ever released on CD?

I also have the book The Basketball Diaries.

Catholic Boy is a flawless album.
Dry Dreams left me a little, well, dry.

I was known for my version of "People Who Died" at the Punk Karaoke nights a few years back. Especially when I changed it to "People Who Are Still Alive".

I agree--Catholic Boy was a great album. Loved the cover--Were those people his parents???

I always felt like 88 Lines about 44 women by the Nails was sort of a ripoff of People Who Died!
