Many albums get their titles from the titles of songs they contain. Other album titles have no obvious connection to the songs on them.

A lot of albums take their titles from a line in a song on the album that wasn't the song's title.

For exapmle, The Cure's "The Head on the Door" album has a song on it called "Close to Me" with lyrics containing the phrase "the head on the door", but no song called "The Head on the Door".

U2 - Rattle and Hum (Bullet the Blue Sky)
Midnight Oil - Diesel and Dust (Warakurna)
Aztec Camera - High Land, Hard Rain (The Boy Wonders)
The Connells - Boylan Heights (I Suppose)
The English Beat - I Just Can't Stop It (Mirror in the Bathroom)
M - New York-London-Paris-Munich (Pop Musik)

Not new wave:
Def Leppard - Pyromania (Rock of Ages)
Nirvana - Nevermind (Smells Like Teen Spirit)
Van Halen - "Fair Warning" (Mean Streets)
Dire Straits -"Making Movies" (Skateaway)
Pink Floyd - "Dark Side Of The Moon" (Brain Damage)
Peter Gabriel probably uses the words "So" "Us" and "Up" on those albums, but that's kind of cheap. Same with Pink Floyd's "The Wall" which doesn't have a song called "The Wall".

Sometimes the album title is a variation on a phrase from the lyrics:

The Cure - Staring At The Sea - The Singles (The song "Killing an Arab" contains the phrase "staring at the sea")

U2 - Wide Awake in America (The song "Bad" contains the phrase "wide awake").

There must be others.

What a cool topic Scram. This will require some serious recollecting. The one off the top of my head is the Romeo Void comp "Warm In Your Coat". I bet there's a lot of comps that fit this description.
