The Linda Ronstadt thread got me diggin around my early 80's R&R folder and here pops out this forgotten gem.
It certainly has some NW elements such as the drums which I think are electronic and the guitar and keyboards have that period production value like 'I Have The Skill by the The Sherbs.
You hub kids out there be sure to nick these and give them a play.

That's a great song ... I have it on a promo comp from the now defunct Renaissance Records who reissued a lot of 70's/80's prog and AOR. I wasn't too impressed with Prism's other songs, but this was a classic that I grew up on.

Great tune! I also liked their tune "Flying".

Im so glad that Im not the only one who heard of Prism!

Know the song well. I'm a sucker for any of the late 70's/early 80's pop rock acts that were under the radar at the time.

We did a couple of Prism songs in the band I was in at the time (PRIOR to the release of 'Don't Let Him Know'); we did "Spaceship Superstar" and "Coming Home".

Prism! Nice. I only have this on 8 track. Doesn't get heard much these days. [:D] I always loved Open Soul Surgery.

Saw Prism at the Colorado State Fair many years ago. Kinds reminded me of Saga and Rush.

Check it out. I have the Saga album, but up until now I had only heard of the band Prism, not their music.

Don't Let Him Know was co-written by Bryan Adams and was the first American Top 40 hit for Prism. It was also the first Prism song to feature new vocalist Henry Small, and the 1981 album 'Small Change' it appeared on also featured another US hit with 'Turn on Your Radar'. It would be the last success for Prism.

Following this album, many of the original members of Prism had left, making the 1983 album 'Beat Street' pretty much a Henry Small solo album.

A Prism reunion with original singer Ron Tabak (who was fired in 1981 for lewd behaviour and run-ins with the law) was planned, but was nixed when in 1984, Tabak died from a Brain Hemmorage he recieved from a Motorcycle Accident

Prism eventually did reform in 1988 for a Greatest Package and a new song 'Good to Be Back', which was co-written by Bryan Adams
