Who do you like better and why? I gotta go with Howard Jones. I like his vocal tones much better. Dolby is the more accomplished musician, but I loke Jones' songs better.

Motors, that is AMAZING: as soon as I'd heard "I Love You Goodbye" Thomas Dolby may as well have never written another song. It is classic.

Who? Woodlandparkpunk and Woodlandparkpunk? I'm not sure. [:D]
But my vote's Dolby. Jones was often too downtempo and musically just not as interesting as some of Dolby's more unique offerings, ie. not Blinded Me With Sciene.

Wow, thanks Motors. The summer heat has really fried my brains. I totally forgot that I made this post. How did you find this so quick?
Man, it's Friday and I gotta get to the pool.

It just sounded really familiar so I searched "jones dolby" and there it was. I did laugh when I saw it was the same guy that posted it [:D]. I thought you were trying to trap people or something. [:)]

"I Love You Goodbye" is my second favorite Thomas Dolby song. "Airwaves" is now and will most likely always be my favorite.

Ugh. I have an extreme aversion to both.

DayGloJo[/quote]Ha! That was my first reaction too. However I admit I like hojo quite a bit, and if I hear "the" song by dolby ever again I think I will simply scream.

Since I wasn't around for the original poll...
I also would have to go with Dolby. Both are extremely talented musicians, but Dolby has the edge with his songwriting (personal favs "One of Our Submarines" or "The Flat Earth"). He can also write a pretty funny song, too (Airhead, anyone), and the knock-out punch is that he (at least used to be) next door neighbors with Eddie Van Halen....
I do like Ho-Jo (I'm suprised Howard Johnson's never sued about that)--but if I had to dump his stuff or Dolby's from my collection, I wouldn't think twice.

I'll go with Thomas Dolby only because Europa was an incredible song and he has that Lene Lovich connection.
Howard Jones always seemed like such a sensitive little sweater boy.
