What with all the attention paid to Wham! and Corey Hart recently I felt it was time to make a thread designed to see exactly who you like that for some reason you feel like you shouldn't.

As a true lover of 80's music of practically all genres, I'll listen to anything and am not really ashamed of it, but some people seem to not want to admit that they secretly like....say....Rick Astley.

But anyway, I wanna know who you like that you normally wouldn't admit to liking.

I for example have several CDs from bands that I thought for sure the cashier would laugh at me for buying. A couple of examples:

Hall & Oates
Vixen
Debbie Gibson
Kim Carnes
Exposé
(Had to special order the last two)
I even have "The Essential Don Johnson"

So go ahead and fess up your secret favorite bands......I'm sure none of us will make fun of you....[}:)][:p]

Well, I recently picked up those Time/Life "Sounds Of The 80's" CD's in the used bin at Barnes And Noble specifically to hear all the hit songs that I liked as a pre-teen and damned if I can't stop rocking out to Asia's "Heat Of The Moment". Never saw it

I like Toni Basil a lot.
Yeah, it's not smart music, but it's fun, it's danceable, it's got a sense of humor. She looked like a goof & I like that.

I'm not really ashamed of my guily pleasures though,

Toni Basil is like the only 80's artist I can't stand, but I guess SOMEBODY has to like her. [8D]

I guess I'll admit to liking Nu Shooz, The Breakfast Club, Swing Out Sister, Simply Red, Terence Trent D'Arby and..........BRITNY FOX! GIRL'S SCHOOL, BABY!!! YEAH!!!

i'm not guilty about any of my pleasures goofy pop has its place, just like more serious music.

i'm a huge Falco fan... some might consider that a guilty pleasure. too bad he's only known for Rock me Amadeus in the US. So many great songs.

Hall and Oates, for sure. I even have an old tour shirt from them (not from a show I saw, though...).
Also, a lot of power/monster ballads too.
And I've been known to bust out with Laura Branigan's Self Control at karaoke bars...
