I dunno if this topic has been covered before, but does anyone remember British new wavers Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club?

Before he was successful, Thomas Dolby was the keyboardist in this band and in January of 1980, their version of 'Video Killed the Radio Star' (which was co-written by Bruce Woolley) became a top 40 hit here in Canada! I don't know where else this version was a hit, but I do know it didn't appear in the UK top 40 or the American Billboard Hot 100

I have this album,too!Great underrated Bruce Wooley,is one of my favourite art rock/synth artists of eightess.Looking also for his second more experimental effort!

Trevor Horn was also in the band, hence The Buggles "cover" of Video Killed...

English Garden is one of my alltime fav New Wave Songs. I can remember it getting a fair amount of airplay on Rock 103 out of Memphis way back when.

It wasn't actually a cover. The song was written between Bruce Woolley and Buggles members Geoff Downes and Trevor Horn. Woolley's version was actually released first, but didn't take off until the Buggles version became a international hit

That's why I put "cover" in quotations.

I saw 2 copies of this album at Cheapo in Mpls this weekend. If anyone is looking for a copy let me know and we can work something out.

I have this album also! I really liked it. Haven't heard it in a long time.

I was very lucky to see Bruce Wooley & the Camera Club perform live as the opening act for Lene Lovich back on the Cal Berkeley campus in 1979. I have two copies of the vinyl album and look for a release on CD and I hope that day comes. This album is fantastic & I wish it had a larger audience. I miss the early days of New wave just before MTV. It was great to be witness to the transition from punk to new wave.

Ever seen a copy of this Lp that wasn't a promo? I have had around 4 copies of this Lp over the last 25 years (yikes!) and every one has been a white label promo.
