Celebrating Live Aid's Anniversary On Long Island
Tonight (technically, Friday morning) from Midnight to 2AM, I’m co-hosting Essential 80’s “Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Live Aid.” The show will be re-broadcast Saturday night from 10PM to Midnight—probably a little more palatable time for most folks, I’m sure. You can find this on 90.3FM. And, the show is totally commercial-free. (Of course, my little Sports Talk show is heard Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9PM to 11PM on that same frequency.)
In keeping with the show’s format, our playlist will be only songs released in the 80’s that were performed at Live Aid on July 13th 1985. Of course, that day was just 2 days after my 15th birthday…..
If you’re in (or driving around in) the listening area--or know someone who lives in the area and would be interested--please let them know. The listening area mainly consists of Nassau, Western Suffolk and Eastern Queens, but the signal can be heard in a lot more of the Tri-State area depending on atmospheric conditions, conflicting frequencies and the quality of the radio.
Thanks, and please tell a friend.
