I'm talking about that song where you know every freakin' word and can't help but belt it out in the car, devil-may-care who's watching or listening! Those perfect songs for summer!!
I just gave a full-throated performance of New Order's "Regret" on the way back from the dentist. [8D] Some great great lyrics about no regrets and being happy waking up each morning.
The Plimsouls "Now" is another fav that I finally found all the lyrics to, especially that fast section which I could never understand:
"They'll never take this night away
It's yours and mine until the day
It's all right for one night.
We'll never have this chance again
So love me now and we'll pretend
It's all right for one night, right now!"

"Born of Frustration" by James
Stop stop talking about who’s to blame
When all that counts is how to change
All this frustration
All this frustration
Who put round eyes on a butterfly’s wings
All this frustration
All this frustration
Who gave the leopards spots and taught the birds to sing

Mine definitely is Iggy Pop's "Lust for Life" That comes on, the speakers blair. I feel like actually jumping around; but I guess I can't do that while driving!!

HA, HA, good topic Blir! I think I'm gonna go with the Pet Shop Boys' "Home & Dry" - at least for today! This is a yummy serving of PSB at their finest. Earnest lyrics, catchy melody, memorable hook, instantly endearing, all built on a two chord song structure. I kid you not. Even the chorus is in the same two chords that the verses are in. SIMPLISTIC BRILLIANCE at it's utmost best. I swear, they're the Bauhaus of modern pop music [:p]
So my baby's on the road
doing business, selling loads
charming everyone there
with the sweetest smile
Oh tonight
I miss you
Oh tonight
I wish you
could be here with me
but I won't see you
'til you've made it back again
Home and dry
Home and dry
There's a plane at JFK
to fly you back from far away
all those dark and frantic
transatlantic miles
Oh tonight
I miss you
Oh tonight
I wish you
could be here with me
but I won't see you
'til you've made it back again
Home and dry
Home and dry
Far away
through night and day
you fly long haul tonight
Come to me
you know I'll be here
when you call tonight
Oh tonight
I miss you
Oh tonight
I wish you
could be here with me
but I won't see you
'til you've made it back again
Home and dry
Home and dry

Ok, if you don't know this one, get thee to the hub and get it from me ASAP.
Ash - Girl From Mars
Do you remember the time I knew a Girl From Mars?
I don't know if you knew that.
Oh we'd stay up late playing cards,
Henri Winterman Cigars.
Though she never told me her name,
I still love you, Girl From Mars.
Sitting in our dreamy days by the water's edge,
On a cool summer's night.
Fireflies and the stars in the sky,
Gentle glowing light,
From your cigarette.
The breeze blowing softly on my face,
Reminds me of something else.
Something that in my memory has been replaced,
Suddenly it all comes back.
And as I look to the stars.
I remember the time I knew a Girl From Mars,
I don't know if you knew that.
Oh we'd stay up late playing cards,
Henri Winterman Cigars.
Though she never told me her name,
I still love you, Girl From Mars.
Surging through the darkness over the moonlight strand,
Electricity in the air.
Twisting all through the night on the terrace,
Now that summer's here.
I know you are almost in love with me,
I can see it in your eyes.
Strange light shimmering over the sea tonight,
And it almost blows my mind
And as I look to the stars
I remember the time I knew a Girl From Mars,
I don't know if you knew that.
Oh we'd stay up late playing cards,
Henri Winterman Cigars.
Though she never told me her name,
I still love you, Girl From Mars.
Today I sleep in the chair by the window,
It felt as if you'd returned.
I thought that you were standing over me,
When I woke there was no-one there.
I still love you, Girl From..
Mars

"I Ran" gets me wailing along (cliche).
So does "Baby Oh No" by Bow Wow Wow.
And "Mr. Brightside" by the Killers.
Blir: I also just returned from the dentist this AM! My mouth is still numb. Ooog...

Remember that show, In Search Of..."coincidence or pschic phenomena?!"
For the Killers, I'd go with All These Things That's I've Done..."I got soul but I'm not a solja, I got but I'm not a solja..." in increasing crescendo until drool completely cakes my windshield! [:D]

Can't help but sing along to 'Take On Me', even though I don't have the range. [:(]

Hanging on the Telephone is one of my favorites, although I usually make myself hoarse.
Lately I've been singing along to Wire Train's Chamber of Hellos. I kill on the harmony "Hellloooooo, hello, hello...etc."
I only wish I sang as well out of the car as I do while I'm in it!

The first CD I made for the swap (Sing, Otters, Sing!!!) was this very theme - I'm happy to make more copies if anyone needs it.
and Motors is right with Girl From Mars. That, Matthew Sweet's Girlfriend and Blur's Girls and Boys were the last 3 cuts.

There are a few here:
"The Cutter" by Echo and the Bunnymen was a favorite, just to show off I knew the words to it.
"You Need Hands" by Malcolm McLaren because it's fun to sing along to.
"Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)" by Haircut 100 and "See Those Eyes" by Altered Images only because I could hit those long drawn- out notes (at least I think I could).
And I did duets with a college friend of mine of "John Wayne is Big Leggy" by Haysi Fantayzee and "Elastican Chant # 2" by Hey! Elastica. [:D]
