Hey all. Still lurking from time to time but have not had much to say. Anyway, I logged on today and thought that someone would tell me how bad Rockstar: INXS was last night. Yet, you all are silent. So, I am asking "did I miss anything?"

I did'nt see it. A friend of mine watched it and said the remaining members of INXS came off looking pretty embarassed about having to resort to something so pitiful.

I didn't see it but saw some promos and I'm embarrased for them after Terrence Trent Darby I though they would hang it up. I though INXS was great but after Hutchins death. It won't ever be the same.

This is one move which has wrecked INXS's credibility in my book. I'm guessing that their publicity on this show will drum up sales in their back catalogue, if nothing else.
So, I am asking "did I miss anything?"
My post in the "Who 'Lost It' Big Time" thread?
The series kind of squicks me out, but getting past the has-been factor and the lost-credibility factor and the fact that it's just a feel-bad show, there are some OK performers -- far better than the karaoke (or should that be carrieokie?) dreck you'll find on "American Idol." Also, the gameplay set-up is a lot better than "Idol's. Meaning, the chances of a standout contestant getting the boot because 12-year-old girls were busy voting a million times for somebody "hot" aren't likely.
It was also DOA in its premiere, so it isn't INXS who's going to be screwed the rest of the summer; it's CBS.

Looks like I missed that as well. On a more positive note, I am not too bumbed about missing last night's Rockstar. Thanks.

I watched last night. Brooke Burke is worth the watch alone. Anyways...there was maybe one guy who might be able to pull it off. I think his name was Mic/Mig. Can't understand why there were female performers?? Don't see INXS ever having a female singer.
Decent mindless tv.

It's actually good for the band, as they're coming across really, really, well.
I despise Mark Burnett being involved, as Survivor is produced by Castaway Productions which is owned by Bob Geldof--and you know my equation, booze + a belt + Bob Geldof = killed Michael Hutchence.

Are you serious about this? I did not know that Bob Geldolf had anything to do with the Schedenfreude Schlockfest that has become American television.
If this is the case, HEY ALANIS, here is your definition of ironic...

I don't know why I love this show so much but I do. It took me a long time to really get into this show but I think that I am there now. If this is how INXS is going to find a lead singer then so be it. I hope that they choose MiG. I think he fits the bands image more than the others. He is really good! Can't wait to watch this Tuesday. Marty, the blond guy from Chicago has to sing 'Hit me baby one more time'! TRAIN WRECK but I think he might be able to pull it off.

I say I hate the show, but I still tune in twice a week. I think I may be in love with Jordis. There's something about her that is very warm.
I think Mig will take it too. I hear that Marty is the fan favorite, but luckily, the fans aren't choosing who ultimatly wins.
Dave Navarro skeeves me out. He's like Vincent Price's twice-as-prissy child.

Wolvie, I remember that it was only you and I that were the American idol "fans". I thought for sure that you would love this show too. I was skeptic at first but I am hooked now! There are only about 5 million people who watch the show every week. Very low ratings! The show is suppose to last until the first week of October. I hope they don't pull the plug on it! When Jordis sang " The man who sold the world" her performance gave my goosebumps. It was so great. I can't believe how cute Jon Farris is! I guess with Michael Hutchence fronting the band, I didn't notice the others.

I can't believe that stripper girl is still there. Every move looks like it was tested out on the pole first. I think her name is Jennifer?
Is it me or are most of the performers over 30? I'm happy they aren't the usual 20 year olds & divas.
I suppose I could check the website...[:)]

Ah crap .... I admit it. i've been hooked on this thing from the beginning. So far I don't miss any of the people who have been eliminated with the exception of Brandon, who I thought was improving and could have eventually adapted to a more appropriste style that would have fit the band. As for the remaining contestants: Ty has a great voice but I don't think he'll win it. I love Jordis but I really can't see INXS going with a female singer. I wouldn't mind seeing her win, but I doubt it would ever happen. The other remaining female contestants don't stand a chance. I dislike Marty intensely and thought last week was his first decent performance. JD's a total asshole but ....depending on which direction the band wants to take, I can see him winning. I think if they want to try to hop on this "next wave" bandwagon, he's their guy. I think it would be a huge mistake, but if the guys were known for exercising good judgement we wouldn't have this show in the first place. I think that covers everyone? That leaves my pick to take it all - Mig. GOOOOOOOOO Mig!!!!
Oh yeah - and how about that skirt Brooke Burke wore last week? [:0]
