Anyone remembers the Radio Stars? A great band in a wrong time, as it could be described better.Having members from John's Children(Andy Ellison) and Sparks(Martin Gordon),pathed the punk wars through their old-fashioned rock n' roll with nods to mod and a passion for unusual lurically songs.Their two albums, are both strange and fully energetic but went nowhere in sales.Especially the second ''holiday album'' tends to new wave and leaves behind the pub rock days of Chiswick...

Yeah, they wer definately a unique band. I picked up a compilation of their stuff a year or so back. Definately one of the many great forgotten bands of the first new wave/punk era.

I had Songs For Swinging Lovers and it didn't impress me all that much at the time so I got rid of it. Now I've been searching out another copy and it's nowhere to be found.
I've got a 12" single of Nervous Wreck and that's it.

I have 'songs for...' and it's a decent-enough representation of the era; not brilliant maybe but I'm glad to have it. I passed on a copy of the 2nd lp that was going for $15 in a local shop. I noticed it was gone the last time I went through.

Great band, great band.. [8D]
Their best of CD is still available for purchase at Amazon.com and well worth it.
Still prefer the Not-Sensibles as they had a better sense of humour! [:D]
