Theres ten of maybe two hundred plus songs I'll consider one of my favorites ever at any given time. Its just a sample though as Im sure Dave wasnt looking for an exact scientific list of our ten favorites. I left off certain bands like Pulp, Blur, Suede, oasis, etc.... because I sort of consider the early to mid nineties Britpop scene to be sort of the natural progression of eighties new wave and syntht pop, at least in England. Just an opinion. I also didnt name any David Bowie songs because hes sort of a New Wave Godfather (at least according to the Eurythmics), and was always regularly played on the "new wave" and "modern rock" stations. Ill remember a million songs I like better than those but will resist the urge to edit my post!

Thats interesting because two of the songs I left off my list were by Ivy (Wish it all Away) and Saint Etienne (Youre in a Bad Way) because I still had it in my head that they were "new wave" to the extent that they were played on new wave stations . Theres a thin line I suppose!

I just got into Rufus Wainwright recently. I was never into his music but I heard Oh What a World and then found other stuff and became a big fan. Theres a movie from the late 80s called Tommy Tricker and the Stamp Traveller, and Rufus is in it. Hes about 11 years old and hes performing a song (that you see him writing earlier in the movie) in the middle of a shopping mall with a little kid band. Strange movie!

At the moment on the Ipod - (mellow), I am going deep here. It is a shame they don't play this stuff on the radio....
