Was reminded of this movie earlier today and was curious.

Has anyone here seen it? How many in the theatre when it first came out? Have the Album?

Saw it was a friend of mine when it came out in the very early 80's. He hated it, I fell in love with the music.

Some of us have the bootleg DVD (my thanks to a wise and knowledgeable NWO member!). There was even an NWO outing to a revival of it at an East Village theatre over a year ago. Lucky you - I never saw it when it first came out.

I have the soundtrack up on the Hub...

Bought the VHS when it first came out.

Can't find it, damn it! Has to be here somewhere...

Saw it at the Sunrise Mall in Massapequa. Later, in the same threatre with the same friend, I saw "The Hunger". He walked out while Peter Murphy was doing "Bela Lugosi". Said something about not sitting through another of those movies again. LOL!!!

I first saw it as a midnite movie in a theatre in Jonesboro, Arkansas back around 1982 or '83. Most of the crowd that night were local farmboys and rednecks who had no idea what they were in for. The Cramps performance of "Tear it Up" literally blew their minds. I kept hearing people say " What the hell is this shit?" . I just sat there in awe ....totally blown away by the music. Urgh! changed my life.

When it was first played in greece, in early eigtees the reaction were unbeliavable.There were the youth of new wavers, who loved it as a lone document of the not so famous american post-punk scene, and from the other the ridicoulous teams of fans of Greek Communist Party,believed it as a satanic product of imperialism!There were facts of barbarism against teenagers,cinemas and threatens for everyone wanted to watch the movie.As for me,it is a legendary moment of everything i've loved in my life-the music and the general culture of these hot years!!!

URGH! turned me on to so many bands at an impressionable age. I probably saw it the first time in about 1982 and then again in 1983. It's where I was first exposed to Klaus Nomi and John Cooper Clarke, 2 artists that are still on the top of my list to this day.

A friend of mine found me a VHS of URGH about 1989 and I wore the thing out. A friend of mine got a copy on DVD and loaned it to me. It's something that I still watch about once a year.

I taped it from Showtime in the early 80s. I wore the tape out by 84 or 85. I need to get the DVD.[:)]

It was part of my collection from Highschool that found its way back to me.

I have a dubbed VHS copy, one of the best concert vids ever IMO. Kinda disappointed in the soundtrack since so much stuff is missing from the film, especially the CD version, it's got like 7 or so less tracks than the double LP.

Doesn't the album have tracks that aren't on the VHS and vice-versa?

I saw it in the movies in the 80's with my sister and brother

I thought that the soundtrack was missing songs from the film.
I have a 2cdr compilation of all the songs in the film though.
And evidently, all the acts in the film had 3 or so songs filmed, although there was mostly only one or two included in the film. Some people claim to have this footage.
