I've had this tune(Tremelo Song) for years and no longer own the cd as I had several back then and never gave them a chance.Is the rest of their material any good ? I have about 5-6 mp3's but that's it.I believe this is from "Between 10th and 11th".What would you recommend ?

I have the album "Tellin' Stories" on the Hub. It is quite good! (but could get a little boring on first listen esp. if you're not really into it). Same feedback for "Between 10th & 11th".

I personally find "Some Friendly", the first album released, to be the best one. My favorite songs include You're Not Very Well, The Only One I Know, Polar Bear, and Believe You Me.

I like the Charlatans quite a bit, I can highly recommend the first album Some Friendly and the self-titled album, which I think was the fourth.

What are the other mp3s that you have and do you like them?

They started out as part of the Manchester scene (Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, early Blur, etc.) but got a little more rock n roll later on as the Rolling Stones influences started to come through (Good Stones, that is). A later album showed Tim Burgess singing with a Curtis Mayfield-like falsetto with mixed success (a couple excellent singles but tiresome over 12 songs).

Anyway, I can recommend a few other tracks based on what you like, and you can usually find their earlier albums in used bargain bins pretty cheaply.

I'm with Rubbeet. Never checked out the self titled album though. I'll have to give it a chance Otters. I actually met Tim Burgess years ago at an after show party at the Ritz in NYC years ago when I did freelance design work for Beggar's Banquet Records.

Ok, I also included "Some Friendly" on my hub files now (just in case anyone wants it).

I believe these titles are accurate and am quite fond of them.I'll seek out the first album sometime. Oh, I had no idea Mark Burgess was on one of them.The six mp3's I have I really like a lot ! I'll have to
re-load all the dc++ sometime.I cleaned out my computer a while back including about 20 something gigs of albums.I miss the hub !
