Just wondering if any of y'all caught the parody of a-ha's Take on Me Video a couple of weeks ago on Family Guy with Chris Griffin taking the place of Morton's love interest. Their animators hit the style of the video dead on. It was fairly amusing.

I did see it, and you were right, it was perfect, right down to the 2 guys chasing him with pipe-wrenches. That came out of nowhere....

That was so funny and unexpected that I had to rewatch it a couple times!
I love the end, when Lois asks "Where were you?" and Chris, confused, says "I DON'T KNOW!"

Yup. Funny stuff. An earlier episode from this season had a parody of the Bone Symphony - "One Foot in Front of the Other" scene from "Revenge of the Nerds."

It's only fitting to have the coolest music video of all time on the funniest show of all time. I absolutely loved this joke, but Family Guy makes 80's music references all the time, however this was probably the most blatant and funniest.
Other 80's music jokes in Family Guy:
Meg (who has a crush on the reporter): "Oh my God! I'm missing the news!"
Peter: "We all miss the news honey, but Huey Lewis needs time to think and create."
Lois calls Chris by his full name once which happens to be "Christopher Cross Griffin"
Peter sings a "song that gets me through the rough times" which turns out to be Rock Lobster.
Peter finds out about Lois' past relationship with Gene Simmons: "Holy crap! My wife did KISS!"
Lois (muffled): "and Night Ranger"
Peter: "What?"
Lois: "Nothing"
There's a flashback to Lois' "wild past" in which she made plaster molds of "celebrity members" this turns in to a Hall & Oates joke
Lois: (To Daryl Hall) "I'm not coming back for Oates."
This is one of the reasons I love the show so much, some of the references and hilarious parts are soooo obscure you know only a handful of people got them, and that makes it all the better when you do.
"Huh, Karen Black, what an obscure reference."

I agree entirely. Family Guy is the funniest thing on televison today, hands down.
Peter: You deserve to be treated like the piece of schmidt you are
Lois: That's Pewterschmidt...

The best part of Family Guy are all the mainstream and semi-obscure 80s references. Peter usually provokes them. One of the best bits is where Peter suddenly is riding in a Tron light cycle.

Peter: Is your referigerator running?
Because if it is, it's running like you. Very homosexually.

I coulda sworn it was Night Ranger, but then again I also though that it was "We got these in a box of Booberry" and it was Frankenberry.
That's another thing Family Guy is constantly making fun of...cereal.
"Oh my God, Brian! There's a message in my Alpha-bits. It says oOoOoOoOoOohhhh"
"Peter those are Cheerios."

Just rewatched the Toad-licking episode today...
Gotta love when "Lando" Griffin spray paints "Thompson Twins Rule" at Meg's school.....
