Name That Tune Volume 25

Postby fritzb » Sun Aug 07, 2005 1:51 am

Name That Tune Volume 25 (Commonwealth Edition)[/b]

I finally got a chance to put the finishing touches on the next edition of the ever popular Name That Tune[/b] game. With this edition of the game, we finish off our World Tour[/i] with stops in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. All of the artists in this game hail from the one of those 3 countries. The mix is about evenly split between Canada and Australia, with a few Kiwi acts making up the difference.

As usual there are a total of 25 songs clips. As with previous games, all of the tracks are the standard single or album versions, except for the very last song (#25), which is an Extended Mix. The game is on a 100 points basis (2 point for artist, 2 point for title). Partial credit will be given for responses that are "close" to correct. There are 2 seconds of silence between song clips. Download your response form below and email it to me for tabulation when you're finished (my email address is on the form). Make sure to put your forum screen names on your answers, so I know who you are. I will send the Answer Sheet to everyone who sends me their responses (if you don't hear from me within 24 hours, I probably didn't get your email). Don't post your responses here![/b]

Here's the link for the response form (my email address is on it):

Here's the song sampler link:

The game will end on Friday August 19 at 4PM EDT[/b].

Good Luck! [:)]

Game Update[/b]

Just a quick game update...

I've only received a few responses so far and most of them seem to have had a pretty tough time with edition. Currently the average score is a quite modest 40 points. [:I]

I'm afraid to send in my answers, on fear I might have my New Wave visa revoked after this one! [:0]

[/quote]Skinnytie, I wouldn't worry too much about that. Currently the average score stands at 42 points. No one has really crushed this one yet. [;)]

Game Update[/b]

A few more responses have trickled in, but I guess most of you are holding out for some last minute inspiration. [:p]

Currently the average score now stands at 45 points. 4 songs remain unidentified (#19, #22, #23, #24). All of the other songs have received at least one correct answer.

You procrastinators are running out of time. The game ends this Friday at 4PM EDT[/b]! [:0]

Last chance to get your responses in. The game ends today (Friday) at 4PM EDT! [:0]

BTW: BigBri knocked off 2 of the remaining stumpers, so now only #22 and #24 remain unidentified. [8D]

NAME THAT TUNE VOLUME 25 (COMMONWEALTH EDITION) RESULTS!!![/b]

Here are the complete results for Name That Tune 25 (Commonwealth Edition)! Evidently this game was pretty tough for most people. Participation was down a bit and over half of the respondants waited 'til the last 2 days to submit their responses. That said, only one song remained unidentified. Good job everybody! [:)]

1st Place - BigBri (72 points)
2nd Place - thefxc & wozgo (tied with 66 points)
4th Place - Grayson & Fiftypercent (tied with 58 points)

Honorable Mention goes to Eight6 and Schwenko, who just missed the leader board by a couple points.

Number of Players = 16
Average Score = 50 points
Low Score withheld to protect the innocent [:I]

As usual, I've linked mp3s for a number of the less well known or hard-to-find songs. Enjoy! [:)]
