When I saw Orchestral Manouevres in the Dark in New York City, the opening act was Antonia and the Operators. Never heard of them before, never heard from them since. Anybody know anything?
Cheers

forgot to mention that show was, to the best of my recollection, fall of 1981.

You might try to contact this Rob Hardin guy. His bio mentions that he has worked with OMD and that we co-wrote the Antonia stuff. Probably a short live local band...

i googled them:
Antonia and the operators** Versailles / dreams in the dark (well this one's for me a hidden classic , melodic new wave , synth is forward , with a slight classical & cold touch with harpsichord remembers a bit via viva , should have been a hit) the singer antonia is french i think (english sung but a few phrases in french) , the musicians are american , rob hardin played with omd and psychedelic furs, anyway this record seems to have finally been only released in france on famous mankin label. French 7" Mankin label
