Are there any fans out there who liked these New Wavers? I hope that I am not the only one who does, and I highly doubt I am.I first discovered The Hot Rods by just experimenting at the time when I would just buy any band that was New Wave at the time that had albums out in stores, because I was such a huge fan of New Wave music and I still am.It's like I never left it,and I still consider myself stuck in the 80's.Nor do I ever want to leave that time period. It was just way too good.
And The Hot Rods were a perfect example of why.Although most will say that they were around in the 70's first. But they stuck it out in the early 80's too.I think their best album that I own is their second album "Life On The Line" with a guy on the front cover with a hangman's noose around his head. The album is all in black, making it have that scary chilling effect.
I thought that "Teenage Depression" was second best to Life On The Line. After "Life On The Line" I felt that they took a step or two downwards because their 4th album of the bunch, just lacked any kind of a punch. The "Fish 'N' Chips" album was a real dissapointment out of the bunch.I can say that at least that their "Thriller" album was still good.Maybe not as good as the first two,but still worth listening to from time to time.Nothing gets as bad as "Fish 'N' Chips" by The Hot Rods, from what I have heard and own.
I know that they have made a comeback in later years, but is the material any good or as good as their first two albums? I am sure regardless that any new material by them,is still alot better than Fish N Chips regardless.
What do all of you think of The Hot Rods as a group as a whole? What did you like by them, and do you have any good Hot Rods stories to tell? Like a concert that you went to of theirs or something.
