I say Depeche Mode. Lots of drama leading up to Alan Wilder's departure, lots of partying, sex, drugs, Dave Gahan's two suicide attempts, multiple marriages and rehab, global touring, US domination, etc. could make up for some good script writing.

Yes? No? What do you think, another band? Who?

Here are the bands that I would love to see a movie for:

Visage - It would be cool to see the story behind the project/band, the clubs, and the entire New Romantic scene

INXS - I don't know why there isn't a movie yet

Duran Duran - Their different phases would interesting to watch.

I also agree with you Marv on DM.

All of the above would make for great movies. I would go see them. But for years I thought a movie about the band Kraftwerk would work very well. I have read a few books about them and found that there's enough material there for a very interesting and different kind of movie and to show the huge influence that they have made. If nobody does it I will make an attempt cause I believe that there is something there.

I wouldn't have thought of Visage - but I'd definitly go see that movie! Might be a "sellable" idea!

I'm kind of biased about Debbie Harry/Blondie - but it would be a cool story - neighborhood weirdo, hippie-folkie, playboy club bunny, waitress at Max's Kansas City, Stillettos & the early glam scene, early punk scene, giant fame, band in-fighting, break-up, Chris Stein's illness, Deb & Chris's break-up after 20 or so years together, reforming the band....

Why, Bananarama, of course [:D][:D]

How about Ministry? Would be great dark drama.

Billy Joel... cause he's got all those great songs right... Or what about Culture Club? All that media dwelling about Boy George: is he straight? Gay? Bi? And don't for get his well documented drug/cocaine abuse scandals. Oooh, the horror! And last but not least, his romance with the sometime gay / closeted drummer. This is drama folks!

While waiting for the new Ian Curtis movie, "Touching from a Distance", I would love to see a definitive movie about the Clash that really also delivers the feel of the whole scene back then.

Fuckin' TOTALLY. Or what about the Ramones? THAT I would love to see. Especially with all the great local locations for filming here in NY. Hailing from Forest Hills/Kew Gardens area of Queens to gigging at CBGB's in Manhattan, the Village, etc. That would be awesome.

Check out the Ramones DVD, The End of The Century. Great documentary. Johnny Ramone claims he was even disturbed by it.
