Swing Out Sister:
I guess most people when they hear and think of Swing Out Sister, don't really look at them as a New Wave band per se.Although some songs I have heard from a couple of their albums almost have a New Wave feel to them.Basically it was their hits that did like "Break Out" Twilight World and You On My Mind.I guess because of their synthesizers that stick out in those songs, that makes them have that New Wave feel to them.Plus,my Trouser Press music guide of New Wave has them listed in the book,so I guess that pretty much makes it official then.
No doubt that their looks had a New Wave look about them.I always looked at them though as half New Wave and half Jazzy. Not a bad combination for those of you who like a little Jazz in their music ha ha.I know that they are still together as band, because I have seen more recent CD's come out,but I stopped buying their music after their second album.Has anyone heard any of their more recent material, and is it any good,or like their old material from the 80's?
