What has Roddy Frame been thinking of after all of these years from 1990 on? Man he really changed the whole sound of Aztec Camera's music from that point on.All their newer material is nothing like their old style.After their first 3 albums I never bought any of their music again.I guess that Roddy has mellowed out with age way to long now,and forgot where his New Wave roots started.


From the album "Stray" to their more current material,their music has really stunk.It's like being stuck in an elevator and suffering listening to elevator music.Somebody needs to tell Roddy that he needs to make much more upbeat music,like he did on the first 3 Aztec Camera albums.And the first one is a real classic.You really can't get any better than "High Land,Hard Rain"

"Walk Out To Winter",a real classic in it's own right."Oblivious" another great classic."Pillar To Post" I love it.But "Stray? Yuck.I guess Roddy has had writer's cramp for a good 14 years now? But man when he wrote all those great songs from the first album who would have thought that Roddy would have lost his touch in more recent years?

This is one of those bands I never was able to get into.

And for all the obvious reasons why Randy,I can see why,as in my first post.You must have heard only their more recent material which is nothing like their old stuff.If you get a chance to hear their first album online somewhere,then give High Land,Hard R

I'm always open to give an 80'S group a chance. After all , I hated Wide Boy Awake--yet love "Come Back Friday" which I only first heard months ago from this site.

I liked Wide Boy Awake alot and also because Kevin Mooney from Adam And The Ants was in this group too.I wish I could find someone who had an MP3 of their song "Bona Venture" I love that song and it is a real lost New Wave classic.

I always thought 1987's "Love" was a great album, too. "Somewhere in my Heart" is absolutely infectious. I think I've put it on more mixes than any other song.[:X]

Why does music have to be upbeat to be good? Most of my all-time favorite New Wave songs are ballads. I agree that "High Land Hard Rain" is a classic; it's No. 2 or No. 3 on my "greatest" list. "Stray" is probably the weakest in Roddy Frame's discography,
