New Wave seems to have relatively few songs compared to straight rock, at least in my feable recollection...

White Lines - Grandmaster Flash (not really new wave but got played at the same time & stations)
Pass the Dutchie - Musical Youth (heh)
Drug Me - The DKs
Now I Wanna Sniff Soem Glue - Ramones
Lust for Life - Iggy Pop
Mainliner - Social D
Junkie Slip - The Clash
Golden Brown - The Stranglers

Oh! And the La's "There She Goes" - not really new wave but worth mentioning since it's such a happy poppy yet killer subversive song..."racing through my brain", "pulsing through my veins", etc.

Love is The Drug, Roxy Music - One of the best songs ever!

Then there's:
Miracle Drug, U2
Not Another Drugstore, the Chemical Brothers
The Drugs Don't Work, the Verve
The Perfect Drug, Nine Inch Nails

But that's a song about love. "Drug is the Love" would be a song about love. Like, duh. [:o)]

I know, I know.....but there's actually some research purporting that being in love is somewhat like being on a drug, like on a high. You know, endorphines and all that.....so being in love is like being on drugs [:p] Hence the song title [8D] Besides, I like telling the world about this song whenever I can - IT ROCKS!

Research also says that being in love mirrors obessive compulsive disorder - thus being in love is like being nuts! "Love is the Obsessive handwashing."[}:)]

Sister Morphine - Marianne Faithfull
Amphetamine Blue - Vibrators
Heroin - Velvet Underground
Next is the E - Moby (he says it's not about ecstasy, but come on...)
Mary Jane - Rick James
Discocaine - Chi Chi Favelas (early Lene Lovich collaboration)

Hmm, I wonder about New Order's "Ecstasy" then. But what are instrumental songs about?! The only one that truly "sounds" like its title is "Behind My Camel" by the Police.

<br>Huey Lewis - I Want a New Drug

He is TOO New Wave! Look at him, hangin' with his NW Homies[/quote]
Huey Lewis is not New Wave. Though I did see them open for Roxy Music on tour, May 18, 1983 at the Richfield Coliseum (south east of Cleveland OH, for those of you not from the NE Ohio region.)

Thanks everyone![:X][8D]

Blir is right; there seem to be relatively few as compared to Rock. (My husband put together a "kaifas" mix (Lithuanian for "drugs") and it's all pretty much classic rock.)
I was thinking I'd like to put together an "altered" New Wave mix together....any other suggestions?
