I can't really find any information and bands on this genre. I am really interested in hearing it. What are some good bands and songs and what not?

I've heard that term thrown around goth clubs, so I got the feeling that it's somewhere between goth and new wave? Don't know.
I searched around and found a list of bands like:
Switchblade Symphony
London After Midnight
Clan of Xymox
Deine Lakaien
A Black Tape for a Blue Girl
Cocteau Twins
I have some of this stuff and I'll try to throw it up on the hub (if I ever get around to loggin' back on again)

I would advice the early Dead Can Dance plus Bauhaus.
Virgin Prunes might do it for you aswell as Suzy and the Banshees.
If you can stomach Robert Smith you might find some moody dark projections. Furthermore I can definetely recommend DOME 1 (with the scary beauty of AC Marias singing there), which also let pop up This Mortal Coil with this just discovered beautiful album, which I only bought for 1 Euro. This record was played to pieces by the earlier owner. You can almost look through it ! [:D]
I think Tuxedomoon's Desire and Holy Wars might also be of quality value here. Hopefully you can start digging this treasures which won't see/can't stand too much daylight. [8D]
PS. WHICH I REALLY CAN RECOMMEND, and is NOT in the Alternative Rock book is METABOLIST. Great real darkwave which makes a complete difference with other bands who do oftem cross the line with Goth. See Metabolist as furious musicians that made music in the pre-human time, but it only was brought out in 1980 !! So nice and intense. I had the honour to see them live. Malcolm Lane a perfect wild man, also on stage. He was like a cross over betweem Jesus Christ amd a Neanderthaler. (Neither did play the bass guitar ever, ...try to get this music)
