I have bad hearing in my left ear, but not due to a concert, I also wear earplugs now, but that's because any remotely loud sound causes my left ear to sort of "static out" all I hear is a loud static sound and my ear starts to hurt.
Went to an ear doctor and she told me it was tinnitus....I told her "I know what tinnitus is, and this isn't it" but she insisted that's what it was anyway.....let's just say I'm not going to her for anything ever again.

I lost my hearing from my right ear. I think it was do to standing two feet away from the speakers at a Motorhead concert. I've been to many loud concerts but that one realy did it to me.[V]

I can't say I lost my hearing at a concert - but having spent a lot of time in dance clubs - I can feel (or rather not hear) the effects of years of too much bass from huge speakers today.
I would go to one club that played techno, they had the sound cranked up so loudly, that your drink would vibrate across the table on it's own.

Ditto on that. I used to go to the Limelight in NYC back in the early 90's and the music was so loud I suffered permanent damage in my left ear. Now when things get too loud, everything on my left side sounds like it's coming out of a tiny transistor radio with a busted speaker. The sacrifices I made for rave culture. What a tool!

..friend of mine used to have a very funny picture of me, taken about three years ago, in an empty midweek nightclub (our crowd were the only ones to turn up!), it's 4am, the dj's out-numbered the patrons, they're playing loud HARD gabba techno(gimme cybotron anyday) in an empty venue with the sound bouncing off the walls - and i've got this pained "i want to go home" look on my face...
i too have gone deaf at BRMC concerts, i can't think of a better sound to lose your hearing to...
back in 1995, i used to play in a guitar band with this little shit of a guitarist, who had a suitcase of effects-pedals, that he could rack up the sound with, until all you could hear was this noise like a jet-engine... sounds interesting the first couple of times, but after a month of being deafened on a weekly basis by his ego and wondering why i'd bothered to learn a bassline no-one was going to hear, i was glad when they fired me...[^]

looks like the NWO is full of deafs [:p]
The loudest, most tinnitus-inducing concert I can remember was the Swans circa 1990 in Manchester, England, and I wasn't even close to the speakers. Great gig.

Billy Idol in 85 made my ears ring so much I remember not being able to sleep. It was also the only show I ever saw were people were yelling at the techs to turn it down, which they did.

Left ear. Angel City at the old Country Club in Reseda in late 1980. Great concert by a band never heard from again. Gary Myrick and the Plimsouls opened.
Angel City's guitar player smiled and cranked it up everytime he had a solo, just to see our pain....

Meat puppets, Florence in the mid-90's. Half of the audience left the concert before it was finished.
Than Spiritualized and Black rebel motorcicle club, New York, 2002. I was too close to the speakers.
